About
Welcome to my website!
My name is Elisabetta Mazzarri, I am 49 years old, and I was born in Pisa. I live in Colignola, a small village in San Giuliano Terme, nestled in the countryside and surrounded by our magnificent mountains. Growing up in this environment, I had the privilege of witnessing the tireless work of my father, a retired family doctor, who dedicated his life to caring for patients, earning their respect and affection.
After completing classical studies and earning a degree in Italian Literature and a second-level master's in Communication, I followed my passion for politics, history, and philosophy by attending the course "Women, Politics, and Institutions" at the University of Pisa. This course led to the founding of the association of the same name, launched in Milan with the participation of then-Minister Pollastrini.
My political involvement began with the founding of the Democratic Party, where I served as secretary of the PD Lungomonte chapter and youth leader in the municipal secretariat of San Giuliano Terme. In 2009, I was elected to the town council, but I was disappointed to discover that many political forces do not always act according to the ideal principles I had envisioned. This led me to distance myself from partisan dynamics. However, in 2016, I was involved in the San Giuliano coordination for the "No" vote in Renzi's constitutional referendum—a cross-cutting, purely ideal experience that reminded me of the true value of politics.
In 2019, at the request of friends and associations, I decided to run for mayor of San Giuliano Terme, representing three civic lists, to maintain my autonomy and freedom of thought. Although challenges and disappointments marked this journey, it allowed me to understand the political dynamics and the needs of our territory.
Besides politics, I have gained experience in public and corporate communication, working as a communication consultant for ECM courses and managing a restaurant near the Leaning Tower of Pisa. These experiences gave me a concrete understanding of the challenges in the labor market, the bureaucratic hurdles, and the need for political support for healthy and innovative entrepreneurship.
Elected as a Town Councillor on June 9, 2024, I now represent the civic groups, sitting with the opposition, and continue to work towards improving the quality of life for our citizens. Although I am a member of the Urban Planning Commission, my focus is on crucial issues such as workplace safety, public transportation, local healthcare, and the protection of our artistic and natural heritage
